The Club Today

The Changing Rooms

The original dressing rooms that were built in 1926 are still in daily use today.

They have just undergone an upgrade / repairs, a new roof over the Ladies changing room, a new solid floor throughout the building and new carpet throughtout.

With the completion of the New Clubhouse, these are now going to be turned into a Office and an Equipment Store for the Club

The Clubhouse

The Original Clubhouse arrived on site pre 1976 having been used as a Tea Room / Cafe at a local campsite.

The Clubhouse has undergone many modifications over the years to make it a more usable unit, the last major refit was to modify the Kitchen and Bar areas, which was undertaken by three club members; messers Crooke, Powel and Lawrence over the winter months when the club was closed.

This had now been demolised to make way for a brand new clubhouse, much larger than the old one to be erected in its place.

The Grounds

The Green is now maintained by a private contractor empolyed by the Club with the surrounding hedges etc being maintained by Club members.

All the hanging baskets have been suppied by several members.

The troughs around the ground have been planted out and maintained by a Club member, Mrs Ollie Cole.

The Membership

Our current membership of 76 is made from 20 Ladies and 56 Men

From the ladies membership we run two Ladies teams, one in division 2 and one indivision 3 of the Ladies leagues.

From the men's membership we run three Men's Saturday league teams one in each of the divisions and one team in the Men's Afternoon league.

The Future

As from 1st April 2014 we will be taking over the maintainance of the green, suurounds, hedges and buildings from the Council.

The Committee is waiting on a grant application decision, which has been granted, it will enable the Club to move forward with a new Clubhouse, retaining our existing car park as part of the lease and plans.

Lease has been now signed, planing approved for the new clubhouse, so now waiting for some final quotes, then hopefully the present Clubhouse will be demolised at the end of September this year, being 2015.

Well work has started on the demolishion of the old Clubhouse and the rebuild started.............
